PLAY-DOUGH

Today we made a homemade play-dough!! It was so much fun, the students LOVED it. We used vibrant colors to dye the dough and they turned out great. We used Easter cookie cutters to play in the dough, which was a blast!! It was also really interesting to see the children's reaction when I told them we used FLOUR and it was different than FLOWERS. hehehe... that age is so adorable.

5 things I'm thankful for:

1) my students
2) family
3) nick@nite
4) rabbit, rabbit! (it's April 1st!)
5) Easter Bunny in Training book (I read it again to them today and they loved it- AGAIN)

If you're interested, here's the simple recipe:

Homemade Play-Dough
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
3/4 cups water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Food coloring
1 egg, beaten

Mix together and knead until smooth. Add more flour if needed. Separate into parts and add a few drops of different colors of food coloring.

Optional: Make shapes and brush egg over the top. Put shapes on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 300 F degrees for about one hour until the clay is golden. Seal with shellac to make shiny. Paint them for fun.
